Dr. Beverley with her dogs Birdy & Leroy

Dr. Julia Beverley

I grew up in Freeport, Illinois and have always felt a calling toward animals and veterinary medicine. At a young age I would routinely bring home any dog or cat that I found wandering the neighborhood. As soon as I was old enough, I spent my weekends volunteering at the local animal shelter where I would try to bring home as many pets as I could!

My desire to learn more and help animals has never wavered; In my undergraduate studies at University of Miami I took as many biology and animal science courses as possible. I continued on the path of becoming a veterinarian and graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2012.

I started my veterinary career in emergency practice where I gained valuable skills and hands-on experience. However, even after two years, I never got used to working overnights. Since then I have worked in both private as well as corporate practices in the San Antonio and New Braunfels area. Previously, I have only offered in home euthanasia to my long-time clients and have always found it to be so much more rewarding and peaceful.

Following a recent trip to visit a fellow colleague who provides this service daily, I decided that this is a needed assistance I wanted to offer to all pets and their families in their time of need, not just my long standing clients.

My goal is to provide a peaceful, stress free, and compassionate goodbye for pets and their loving owners. I want your pet’s last moments to be where they feel at home, surrounded by the ones that love them most…home is where the heart is.

Dr. Emily Howard

Howdy! I was born and raised right here in San Antonio, Texas. I attended Texas A&M University where I completed my B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries in 2015, my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2021, and a Large Animal Medicine internship in 2022. For the past two years, I have been honored to serve my hometown community by providing end-of-life care services to pets in the comfort of their own homes.

I remember when my family lost our dog Annie. I was visiting home from college when my brother woke me up in the middle of the night to say Annie was suffering and it was time to put her to sleep. I was in complete shock and not ready to say goodbye to my best friend of 16 years. I loved Annie with my whole heart but couldn’t face seeing her be put down. My brother took Annie to an emergency hospital where she passed away confused, in an unfamiliar place without me. I will forever regret not being there for Annie when she needed me the most. I wish I could have given her one last “good day” filled with her favorites: peanut butter treats, sticks to chew on, a sunny walk, and time to tell her thank you for the beautiful companionship she gave me. If there had been an option to hold her in my arms while she passed away at home surrounded by her loving family, I know that is what she would have wanted and what she deserved.

Dr. Taylor Curtis

Howdy! My name is Dr. Taylor Curtis and I am honored to serve families in the area with compassionate in-home end-of-life care. I attended Southwestern University, where I graduated with a B.S. in Biology, and went on to earn my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. Since then, I have had the privilege of caring for pets and their families, with a special focus on comfort, dignity, and quality of life.

My passion for in-home euthanasia comes from both personal experience and the relationships I’ve built with clients over the years. One of my own beloved pets became extremely anxious in the veterinary setting, and witnessing that fear helped me truly understand how stressful clinic visits can be — especially during a pet’s final moments. Knowing that in-home euthanasia would be the most peaceful and loving option for him changed the way I view end-of-life care.

Helping families navigate one of the hardest goodbyes they will ever face has felt like a true calling for me. It is incredibly meaningful to be able to provide a calm, gentle experience where pets can remain in the comfort of their home, surrounded by the people who love them most.

Dr. Victoria “Tori” Cerar

Dr. Victoria “Tori” Cerar, DVM has devoted her life to caring for animals, beginning with horses at the age of three. In 2009, she moved to a farm in the Texas Hill Country. She currently has six horses and four rescue dogs that keep her very busy! She also loves reading and watching Steelers games.

Her lifelong passion for animal care naturally led her to a career in veterinary medicine, grounded in empathy, skill, and respect for the human–animal bond. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Texas State University and went on to graduate with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023. After graduation, Dr. Tori spent 18 months working in a mixed animal practice, gaining valuable hands-on experience caring for both large and small animals.

Dr. Tori is honored to support families through in-home euthanasia services. Having faced the difficult decision to say goodbye to her own beloved pets, she understands how emotional these moments can be and how meaningful it is to be in the comfort of your own home during them. She is committed to creating a calm, peaceful experience that allows pets to remain comfortable in familiar surroundings, while offering families empathy, patience, and compassionate guidance during an incredibly difficult time.

Robin

Robin is from the small town of River Falls, Wisconsin. She is the lead Support Manager for Dr. Julia Beverley. Growing up with numerous pets sparked her interest in animal care, leading to a career as a Veterinary Technician. After several years working in a private clinic, Robin discovered her passion for end-of-life care while doing home visits with the practice owner. She found providing support to families during such a challenging time incredibly rewarding, and nearly eight years later, she is grateful to be able to continue helping so many families through that journey.

Robin’s compassionate heart, exceptional organizational skills, and deep experience in the field make her an invaluable member of our team.

Outside of work, Robin enjoys spending time with her family, visiting her son at the University of Madison in WI, and chasing after her energetic 4-year-old grandson.
